Cookie Policy

This site uses a single cookie, and only if you unlock a locked case study. No tracking, no advertising and no banner, because nothing here needs your consent.

  1. 1. What a cookie is

    A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you the next time. Some are needed for a site to work; others follow you around for advertising. This site has one of the first kind and none of the second.

  2. 2. The one cookie

    You enter a valid access code on a locked case study, or open a link that carries one.
    Purpose
    Remembers that you have access, so you do not have to enter the code on every page.
    Contains
    A scrambled (hashed) version of the code. No name, no email, nothing that identifies you.
    Lasts
    30 days, or until you delete it.
    Category
    Strictly necessary. It only exists to do what you asked, so it needs no consent.
    Protection
    HttpOnly and Secure: page scripts cannot read it, and it only travels over HTTPS.

  3. 3. What this site does not use

    • No analytics cookies. Visitor statistics run through Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without following you across sites. See the privacy policy.
    • No advertising or social media cookies, and no pixels.
    • No third-party cookies of any kind.
    • No local storage or other browser storage.
    • No fingerprinting.

  4. 4. Other requests your browser makes

    Two things on the site talk to other servers, and neither sets a cookie: the visitor statistics script from Vercel, and the Antwerp weather in the footer and menu, which your browser fetches from Open-Meteo. What those requests contain is described in the privacy policy.

  5. 5. Removing the cookie

    You can delete the cookie at any time through your browser's settings, usually under privacy, site data or cookies. The only effect is that the locked case studies lock again, and you will need your code to open them. Browsers also let you block cookies altogether; this site works fine without them, except for unlocking.

  6. 6. Changes
